Exercises

Three levels of pressure

Most regulators expect your plan to be exercised on a cycle. These are the three formats that satisfy that, in ascending order of realism.

  1. Tabletop

Your team around a table, a scenario injected in stages, decisions talked through. Finds gaps in notification trees and role clarity.

Half day · no field deployment

  2. Functional drill

One function tested for real: call-out, muster, spill kit deployment, or command post stand-up, while the rest is simulated.

Half to full day · partial deployment

  3. Full-scale deployment

Equipment out, crews moving, external agencies invited. The closest thing to a real activation, with an after-action report that feeds back into the plan.

    Full day+ · written after-action report

Emergency

If it's happening now,
call. Don't type.

1.844.774.4911

Answered live by a hazmat coordinator, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Have this ready when you call

  • Where you are

Site name, address, or nearest highway marker.

  • What the product is

A shipping document or placard number is enough. If you don't know, say so.

  • Roughly how much

And whether it has reached water, soil, or a drain.

  • Whether anyone is exposed

Injuries or exposure change the dispatch immediately.
